There’s beauty that can be found in the wildlife--be it the fur of a civet or the coat of a striped hyena. Fortunately, there’s no need to embark on a long journey to the jungle or savanna to witness such beauty. Inspired by the earthy colors of various animals in the wild, the Two-Toned Coconut Bowl sports two different tones of brown. Around its rich brown top edge are carved stripes, while the rest of the bowl was sanded just right to expose the light brown color of coconuts.
The excellent craftsmanship that this bowl displays can be attributed to the talents of artisans in Vietnam. Just like our other bowls, the Two-Toned Coconut Bowl was skillfully handcrafted from one of the many coconut shells reclaimed in Vietnam. After the discarded coconut shells were reclaimed, these craftspeople crafted them into the beautiful bowls you see today--all without using artificial glue or coating. For more information about the process, check out our “How It’s Made” section below.
With the Two-Toned Coconut Bowl, you can sip your iced drinks or eat your meals while dreaming of brown striped creatures running in the wild.

How It’s Made
1. Harvest coconuts from sustainable sources in Vietnam
We built partnerships with Vietnamese farmers who promote sustainable farming practices. We also make sure that each coconut bowl you choose is as great as its original shell.
2. Remove the husk & juice, and cut the shell in half
Then, the local craftspeople remove the husk and bore holes to pour out the coconut juice. Next, they cut the shell in half and scrape off the coconut meat.
3. Sand the shell inside and out
With the use of sandpaper, the artisans sand and smooth the coconut shells’ edges and surfaces. Sanding these shells can reveal the naturally rich brown colors of our coconut bowls.
4. Get the bowl ready for use
Every coconut bowl is polished to perfection with coconut oil. Polishing the coconut bowl with oil can hydrate it and make it longer-lasting.
Love them all!
