Bamboo Straws

Collection: Bamboo Straws

  • Made with real bamboo, reusable and compostable
  • We only cut and use what we need, allowing bamboo trees to continue growing
  • Bamboo is the fastest growing plant, taking 5-7 years to reach full maturity
How do I clean bamboo straws?
Hand-wash the straws with lukewarm water and soap after every use, and scrub them inside with a straw cleaning brush. Then, let the straws dry after every wash. If you want to give them a thorough cleaning, soak them in boiling water and vinegar solution (20:1 ratio) for around 5 minutes.
Why is bamboo the best alternative to plastic straws?
Single-use plastic straws play a huge role in harming the environment. They’re hard to recycle and end up in landfills for years. Bamboo, on the other hand, is reusable, disposable, and compostable. It even holds the world record for the fastest-growing plant, so it’s a highly renewable resource! Learn more about the plastic straw problem and why bamboo straws are your most eco-friendly option in this article.
How are bamboo straws made?
First, local craftspeople dry the cut bamboo stalks under the sun to make them sturdy and safe to cut. Next, they cut, file, and sand the stalks into straws. After washing them, the straws are dried under the sun for days, which naturally disinfects the straws. Learn more about how bamboo straws are made..
How long do bamboo straws last?
Bamboo straws can be used for years as long as they’re properly cleaned and cared for.
How many straws can fit in the straw holders?
  • Small Jute Straw Pouch - 1 to 3 straws
  • Large Jute Straw Pouch - Up to 6 straws
  • Coconut Wood Utensils Holder - Over 18 straws

Better than other straws (& Earth)!
These are so great to take with me when I eat out or when I’m at home. It’s better for the Earth and when you go out instead of those gross paper straws these are great as a plastic alternative. Different sizes for all liquids! Love these.

Love it!
I am fairly new on my health journey and saw an advertisement for the Coconut bowls. I had to get one! And while I love it and the excellent craftsmanship, I reach for the straws most often. I do not like the stainless steel straws (almost chipped a tooth) or the glass straws (one broke and shattered into small pieces). The straws are absolutely perfect.

Love these!
Love these guys! Shipping was really fast and such good quality! Save the world one straw at a time!

Artisan-Made

We at Rainforest Bowls value the rich cultural heritage and traditional techniques of woodworking from cultures around the world. We strive to provide customers with the best natural products by partnering with artisans from developing regions who have honed their skills in the art of woodworking. This approach supports local communities and helps preserve traditional methods of craftsmanship.

Limited Edition Releases

As part of our commitment to delivering refined goods that last a lifetime while minimizing waste and environmental impact, we produce items in small quantities. This approach allows us to give more attention and care to each individual piece. We also continually strive to innovate and keep things fresh. As a result, some styles may be out of stock for some time or even produced in just a single run and never re-produced.

We Cut No Corners

Every Rainforest Bowls product is crafted with attention to detail and rigid processes to ensure consistency. After hand carving, our team performs six rounds of sanding, two rounds of food-grade sealing, before finishing up by polishing with natural oil for protection and a shiny finish effect. Each piece takes a number of hours spread over multiple days to complete.
